They claim it's because they dont sell very many supersized orders and they'll prolly also jump on the health fad and claim it's to get America to start "Living Healthier".
So I shall pose this Q to you....what do you think the real reason for the elimination of supersizing is?

LIES!!!! ALL LIES!!!!!! Nothing more then peer pressure from all the hype to get america to eat less and trim down..... people are bigger.... kids are bigger...everyone is pointing the finger to the fast food industries as the fault for all the FAT people..all these super sizes/oversized portions got to go and more reasonable portions offered....so they succumb....next year it begins...several McDonalds are following suit too...... I see all the fast food places cutting down their sizes and offering more healthy choices..... low in cal choices.... You watch its already starting.....
I can see it now.... have your big mac with carrot sticks and a water..... ranch dressing for carrots sticks extra charge of course.....
McDonald Salads are awful...lettace tastes like dirt.... but the dressing is good....*L

Image contious McDonalds is trying to stay on top. They know all fat people love and hate them at the same time. They want to make the hate get a little less.
Besides, diet freaks arnt eating any carb loaded frys.Potato industry types are blaming the Adkins diet for a decline in fry sales. All the supersizing was in the frys inyway, and a boatload a pop.

the adkin's diet is a HORRIBLE diet... and its
a shame that so many people have decided to do
it. while it may give weight loss results that
people want to see... there are many hidden aspects
that make this particular diet absurd. i hope
no one here is doing it.
anyways.. back to mcdonalds.....
i recently discussed this very issue with someone.
the fact of the matter ISN'T mcdonalds... but
the impovrishing economy. think about this...
the more money you pay... the smaller the portions
you recieve. this is true of any fine restaurant.
but even so... its CHEAPER to snag a totino's
party pizza than it is to buy lean meat, fresh
veggies (not canned), blah blah blah... its
CHEAPER to buy prepackaged 'healty' foods than
REAL foods...
true-to-life example --
at one of my old jobs, our building was next to
a grocery store. at lunch, me and my friend would
go to the store and pick up something to eat.
i almost always bought a green apple and a
croissant (from SILVEK's!)... and she usually
got a party pizza...
my lunch cost was around $2.50... her cost was $1.15...
ok... so even if i omitted the $1 croissant...
i'm still paying about a dollar for the apple...
KNOWING the apple wasn't going to do shit in
comparison to the pizza.
the fucking country needs to get their priorities
straight. while i am not condoning a personal
choice (because i DO believe its a personal
choice on what you eat).... you are almost IMPOSED
to take the cheaper route.
bah......... i'm losing touch.......

i prefer a good tombstone or a red baron over totino's...they are a bit more expensive, but they are also larger and tastier (larger, meaning, more leftovers, not the ability to eat more)
ok, besides that....back on the mcdonald's thing...
i blame fast food (among other things) for the obesity of america. it frustrates the crap out of me, and i'm falling victim to it myself (the large gut portion of the discussion), just ask ek3 or italipino. anyways, all portions at every restaurant are outrageous, most places i eat, i could split my dinner with someone else and be totally satisfied, i wouldn't be busting at the seams as most people are after eating the entire meal, but i would be content, i wouldnt' be hungry anymore. with that said, if restaurants lowered serving sizes (as well as price, i mean it only seams fair), i think it would be a big first step in a healthier society.
